Hello Readers,
Happy news! My son saw the oncologist yesterday and we received an excellent report. All tumors are still no longer detectable on scans. We are coming up on the nineteen-month-survivor mark, and for stage IV gastric cancer, that’s an amazing blessing. Those of you who are keeping my son in your prayers, I thank you very much!
It’s time for MFRW Book Hooks, but I also wanted to tell you about a little one-day sale I’m having at select retailers. My smoking hot paranormal romance, Scarlett and the Big Bad, was released on March 9th. I’m hoping to have a good showing for my first month, so in order to push my goal along, I’ve scheduled a one-day-only, $1-off promotion at B&N, Kobo, and Apple (reg $2.99). Enjoy a teaser and grab your copy!
Love,
—Sierra xoxo
Hook:
Tomorrow’s the day. I’ll be a priestess of The Order of Phoenix. I wish I knew what that meant. They’re supposed to be wonderful, magical beings who provide for us, though I can’t say they ever did much for me until recently. She rubbed her stomach, hoping the churning would cease before she pushed the duvet covers away and slid out of bed, moving as quietly as she could. After slipping into a robe and bedroom shoes, she paced the hardwoods, freezing in her tracks as a floorboard squeaked. She closed her eyes, holding her breath, half expecting some well-meaning maid to rush into the room. That never would have happened on my old shack’s dirt floor. She drew as much air in through her nose as her lungs could accept before exhaling. Okay, last chance. Do I go find mama and confess my fears or do I jump back in bed and go ahead with the farewell ceremony tomorrow?
Her heart thudded as her imagination ran wild. She had only a vague idea of what joining The Order would mean for her—promises of magic, and of fulfilling carnal desires Scarlett wasn’t sure she ever had.
What will my daily duties be? She rubbed her temples, trying to imagine herself casting a spell, but shrugged and shook her head. Who cares? I’ll never be able to see mama again. She sniffed, her bottom lip trembling. No, I can’t be selfish after the Elder has done so much for me. She ran her hands over her hips, remembering how she’d looked not so long ago. The meals she’d eaten at Elosha’s table had put some much-needed weight on her. Even the texture of her hair and nails had improved, but her skin remained pale as snow and dotted with freckles, and her hands still looked as if they belonged to someone older. Still, I’d like to crawl in bed beside mama to sleep next to her one last time.

What if Red Riding Hood invited peril and the big, bad wolf was the only hero who could save her?
Promised power and position, Scarlett Capuche left her tiny village to join the prestigious Order of the Phoenix.
Monty Blackwolf never wanted a mate, especially not a human raised on a hidden farm for blood-ritual sacrifice. But his werewolf’s heightened sense of smell drew him to Scarlett’s sweet fragrance from miles away.
Duty-bound to protect her, he will break her of her religious devotion to the magical terrorist group responsible for the murders of his parents and older brother, even if he has to put her over his knee and turn her bottom as red as her hair. She belongs to him now, and he will claim all of her despite his affliction with a unique, third shifter-form he doesn’t fully understand and isn’t able to control.
Will Monty save Scarlett, or will he prove more dangerous to her than anyone else?
Author’s Note: If you’re offended by steamy fairytale retellings with graphic language, explicit put-you-in-the-moment love scenes, elements of power exchange, and domestic discipline, you might want to look for a different book.
