I found this book tag on The Book Nut: A Book Lover’s Guide. I’ll be doing an abridged version. You can check out their master list of book tags here: https://booklovingnut.com/book-tags/. The idea is to complete the list and then tag three other people with blogs to participate sometime in the near future. I’ll try to pepper some of my books in where I can, but for the most part, my tags here will be of books I’ve read and enjoyed or books I haven’t gotten around to reading by authors I admire. Feel free to add answers to some of the tags in your comments–just make sure you list the number.
1. Find an author name or title with a Z in it.
Zoe Chant is an author I admire. People who enjoy my curvy girl and stallion-shifter romance series, Horse Mountain Shifters, often purchase her Putting the Heart Before the Horse.
2. Find a classic.

The classic Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is a long way off from what I currently write though my Down the Rabbithole: Alice in Shifterland Story pays homage. Lewis Carroll’s book was one of the first to capture my imagination.
3. Find a book with a key on it.
Jaxie’s Menage doesn’t have a picture of a key on the cover, but it’s the sixth book in The Key Club series by Jan Springer. She’s a USA Today Best Selling Author and a great lady.
4. Find something on your bookshelf that is not a book.

Oh, my goodness, most of my bookshelf is digital, but as to the series of stacked cubicles where I keep printed books, I have a little bit of everything: bins with clothing, another bin filled with dog toys, clothes, and supplies for my Affenpinscher, stationery for writing thank you notes, and lots of purses on the top shelf.
5. Find the oldest book on your shelf.
I’m sure I’ll get a lot of flack about this, but I don’t keep most of the books I read. Unless it’s a signed copy, a copy I received as a gift, or both or unless the story or the copy itself holds some sentiment for me, I usually pass the book along to someone else who can enjoy or benefit from what’s between the pages. I have some pretty old cookbooks that were my grandmother’s. I also have the Bible I was given as a high school graduation gift from my church congregation when I was growing up.
6. Find a book with a girl on it.
Each book in the Triple Passion Play series features a photo representing the heroine, Trisha, at different stages of her life from her early twenties to her mid-forties. Trisha was fun to write. I miss her a little bit now that I’m finished telling her story.

7. Find a book that has an animal in it.
Real Cowboys Love Cats is a paranormal, curvy girl and shape-shifter romance. The heroine is a were-cougar and a volunteer at an organization that spays feral cats, adopting out those they can. She and the hero meet when he’s sent to collect a few mousers being adopted by his family’s ranch. The title’s a double entendre as a nod to the story’s steamy romance.
8. Find a book with a male protagonist.
In The Shack, the protagonist is a father who goes on a spiritual journey years after the abduction and death of his daughter. The author has a unique take on heaven and the after-life which I found both comforting and fascinating. I highly recommend the book over the movie.
9. Find a book with illustrations in it.I’m a fan of graphic novels and Japanese Yaoi manga. The Embracing Love series is filled with illustrations, but if you’re offended by graphic, adult content, or LGBT love stories, you might want to skip all Yaoi.
10. Find a diary, true or fictional.
The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank.
11. Find a book with gold writing.
A Game of Thrones: Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin
12. Find a book on your shelf that takes place in the earliest time period.
The Head in Edward Nugent’s Hand: Roanoke’s Forgotten Indians by Michael Oberg.
13. Find a non YA book.
Chasing Lacey by January Bain is a hot read and not for anyone under eighteen-years-old! Ms. Bain is a talented writer and one of my favorite people.
