My progress on Scarlett and the Big Bad hasn’t taken as straight-line trajectory, but now that Saving Suki has been completed and Rock You Like a Hurricane has been re-published, completing my adventure-packed, paranormal, fairytale romance is a top priority. What if Red Riding Hood was a headstrong brat determined to run straight into danger? What if the Big Bad Wolf was the only hero who could save her?

EXCERPT FROM SCARLET AND THE BIG BAD
She scoffed, shaking her head. “Elosha warned me. She said there would be people who would try to turn me against The Order, particularly men because they can’t stand a matriarchal society with great power. She said that’s why men only want to marry virgins–because they’re too selfish to raise a baby that isn’t their blood.”
Without waiting for his rebuttal, she ran for the exit, but as she pulled the door open, he slapped his large hand against the wood and forced her escape-access shut. He pinned her against the door, breathing down her neck. “You are mine and you aren’t going anywhere unless I say you can.”
“Talk about proving my point.” She yanked at the knob.
His hot breath clung to her nape as his hard body crushed her. She closed her eyes, unable to move beneath his weight. He held each of her wrists, his palms surrounding them, and applying enough pressure to let her know he could easily break her bones if he desired. His cock pressed against her ass, hardening as she squirmed. He brushed the side of his cheek against the side of her forehead, tickling her skin with his hair.
“I’m sorry, Scarlett. I was hoping it wouldn’t come to this, but you have to understand who’s in charge. I expect you to obey me.”
Her heart pounded as sweat trickled down her forehead. She had no idea what to expect from this man who ran hot and cold in the blink of an eye. Her knees quivered as he released her wrists only to wrap his arms around her waist and lift her feet about a foot off the floor. He pivoted, toting her back toward his seating area before setting her down in front of his sofa.
“What?” She barely managed to form the word between pants.
“Shh.” He put his finger over her lips. “You better not move.” Frightened, she stayed as still as the statues at the fountains while he cleared up the tea tray and moved the table about a foot back from the couch before sitting down right beside where she was standing. He spread his feet apart and took her hand. Before she understood what was happening, he pulled her over his knee.
She gasped as her hands reached out to his hardwood floor, steadying her body as her head hung down across from her shoes. She hadn’t been in such a position since she was six-years-old. “What are you doing?”
“What I have to do in order to keep you safe.” Her face burned with shame as he rubbed his palm across her bottom. His circular movements stirred something between her thighs, a tingling ache she hadn’t expected.
“Please don’t.” A shiver scurried up her spine as she tightened her stomach muscles attempting to raise her body. He lifted his hand, and she immediately missed its weight and heat until he landed a swat across her ass. “Ow!” He hit me!
BLURB
All of her life, Scarlett has dreamed of improving her dire circumstances by being selected to join the prestigious Order of the Phoenix. She’s worked hard, studied, and remained pure well into her twenties in hopeful preparation. Just when she’s about to realize her dream, the most gorgeous man she’s ever seen ruins her first meeting with the women of the order, claiming he’s rescuing her. Confused and overwhelmed, Scarlett finds herself unable to resist the man who claims to be her fated mate.
Orphaned at an early age, Monty Blackwolf has done his best to take care of his younger sister, Katina, and just when he’s nearly gotten her all grown up, Scarlett, who might as well be as helpless as a newborn kitten, rushes in to blow a huge hole in his life. He didn’t ask for a mate, and he hadn’t wanted one, but his werewolf’s heightened sense of smell makes her tantalizing even from miles away. The worst part about the sticky situation is her connection to the magical terrorist group responsible for his parents’ and older brother’s murder. Scarlett’s stubborn refusal to believe the truth doesn’t help either.
Monty’s determined to protect Scarlett from her own deeply ingrained indoctrination and The Order’s evil plans for her even if he has to spank her bottom until it’s the same color as her beautiful crimson hair. Compounding his difficulties, he’s afflicted with a unique, third shifter-form he doesn’t fully understand and isn’t able to control. Will Monty be able to save Scarlett or will he prove to be more of a danger to her than anyone else?
